Upperton Pharma Solutions founder heads to Buckingham Palace for King’s Award honour
Richard Johnson, Founder & CSO of Upperton Pharma Solutions was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive The King’s Award for Enterprise on behalf of the business.
His Majesty the King hosted an evening reception at the Palace for all recipients of the King’s Award on 27th June 2023 to celebrate their achievements, and Richard was excited to attend.
Upperton has been honoured with this highly prestigious award by King Charles III and the UK government. This award acknowledges its services to the pharmaceutical industry, and of its exceptional growth in overseas trade in recent years. It is one of just 148 businesses representing every part of the UK economy to receive the accolade this year.
This recognition is a testament to the expertise, passion and effort that everyone in the Upperton team continues to bring to the table on behalf of clients and the wider industry.
Speaking about his evening at the Palace, Richard commented: “I’m absolutely delighted that Upperton has won the award, and I was honoured to attend the event on behalf of our team. I want to thank everyone in the business for their hard work over the years, and to thank customers for their support as well. I’m looking forward to building on this incredible achievement, further enhancing the capabilities we offer customers in the future.”
The King’s Awards for Enterprise was previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, and the new name reflects His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 57th year, has awarded over 7,000 companies since its inception in 1965.
