Business growth and expansion
Under Nikki Whitfield’s leadership, Upperton Pharma Solutions has achieved significant growth and transformation. In 2024, the company opened a state-of-the-art 50,000 sq. ft development and GMP manufacturing facility in Nottingham, UK, marking a major milestone in its expansion. Over the past two years, Upperton has doubled its headcount, investing heavily in scientific and operational talent to support its growing capabilities across oral solids, nasal and pulmonary drug development and manufacturing.
The company has also broadened its service offerings, with the expansion into sterile manufacturing following the build and completion of a 7,000 sq. ft sterile manufacturing facility in 2025. These strategic developments have strengthened Upperton’s position as a CDMO partner of choice for oral, nasal, pulmonary and parenteral drug development and manufacturing for small to medium sized biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
